Yours Truly return with the announcement of their second album TOXIC, due for release in August 2024, with new single 'SOUR'. This track is the follow up to 'Call My Name', released in January 2024, which was added to full rotation on triple j and peaked at most played track on the station. TOXIC leads on from the Sydney band's debut album Self Care, released in 2019, which peaked at #19 on the ARIA Album Chart and was nominated for 'Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album' at the 2021 ARIA Awards. The band will appear at UK's Reading + Leeds Festival in August. "Sour was written during a session after I was feeling extremely burnt out. We had come off extensive touring and quite a turbulent time not only for the band but personally as well. I was just feeling so bitter towards everything and trying to force writing when it just wasn't naturally flowing made me so angry. We got to a stage as a band where we had a lot of people in our ear telling us what to do and how they thought we should do it. So even though the song stays in 4/4 for the most part, we're always staying locked into this dotted sequence of on rhythm guitars and kick, making the rhythm feel complex yet easy to latch onto as a listener. In the final breakdown section, we stay with this dotted sequence, but switch the time signature to 6/8 for a few bars, before reverting back to 4/4 to close out the song. These playful tinkerings with time signature serve as a suitable introduction to the approach we took with grooves throughout the whole record." - Jesse Cash

Melbourne metalcore five-piece Thornhill's hugely-anticipated debut full-length album The Dark Pool which marks the bands assault on an expectant heavy scene. Columbus, Ohio metalcore outfit Like Moths To Flames' fifth full-length album, No Eternity In Gold is an acerbic dissection of religion and the use of faith as a system of control, born from Christopher Roetter's own experiences, upbringing and self-examination. "The 11 tracks focus on overcoming 11 separate issues that I'm dealing with when I wake up every day," Roetter explains. "Most prevalently, it's about struggling with yourself and your own feelings about your ultimate worth. These songs probably showcase more of my own mind than our previous work. I live my life like an open book, and we in the band are all very spiritual people who are in touch with their emotions. I feel that is something that society neglects; we are taught to bury and suppress negative feelings, when we believe that by embracing those emotions, you learn a huge amount about yourself.
